Aktiv Chemistry allows instructors to download a version of their gradebook. This support article also explains how to customize the downloadable gradebook.
1. In the Aktiv Chemistry homepage, click the View Gradebook button in the top right.
2. Click the Customized Gradebook settings wheel two ways
A. To download grades
B. To customize gradebook settings
Gradebook Types
-Number of Scores: The number of scores setting determines if the Aktiv Chemistry gradebook will produce a single score (one gradebook column) or multiple scores (multiple gradebook columns). Scores are determined by the settings chosen below.
-Weighting Type: The weighting type of the Aktiv Chemistry gradebook can either be Independent or Relational. If Independent, grades for each assignment type are determined independently. If Relational, grades for each assignment type contribute by percentage to a total weighted grade.
-Score Type: The score type can either be displayed in points or as a percentage.
3. Select the assignments that you would like in your Aktiv Chemistry gradebook by using the Assignment Types toggles.
4 . For each assignment type that you include, there are additional options to choose from.
Attendance options:
a) Column Type - For Attendance grades, choose if you want a single summary score (column) for all Attendance assignments or a score (column) for every Attendance assignment.
b) Weighting Policy - For your Attendance grades, choose if the weighted grade is equal to the total number of published Attendance assignments or equal to a custom number of your choice.
c) Total Weighted Attendance Grade - Since you chose a custom weighting policy, choose the total weighted grade for all Attendance assignments.
In-Class options:
a) Column Type - For In-Class grades, choose if you want a single summary score (column) for all In-Class assignments or a score (column) for every In-Class assignment.
b) Grading Policies - Choose your desired blend of participation and correctness credit that contributes to the score for all In-Class assignments.
c) Weighting Policy - For your In-Class grades, choose if each In-Class assignment will be weighted equally or individually based on the chosen weight of each created In-Class assignment.
d) Total Weighted In-Class Grade - Since you chose to weigh each In-Class assignment individually, input your desired total weighted In-Class.
Homework Options:
a) Column Type - For Homework grades, choose if you want a single summary score (column) for all Homework assignments or a score (column) for every Homework assignment.
b) Grading Policies - Choose your desired blend of participation and correctness credit that contributes to the score for all Homework assignments.
c) Weighting Policy - For your Homework grades, choose if each Homework assignment will be weighted equally or individually based on the chosen weight of each created Homework assignment.
d) Total Weighted Homework Grade - Since you chose to weigh each Homework assignment individually, input your desired total weighted Homework.
Quizzes Options:
a) Column Type - For Quizzes grades, choose if you want a single summary score (column) for all Quizzes assignments or a score (column) for every Quizzes assignment.
b) Grading Policies - Choose your desired blend of participation and correctness credit that contributes to the score for all Quizzes assignments.
c) Weighting Policy - For your Quizzes grades, choose if each Quizzes assignment will be weighted equally or individually based on the chosen weight of each created Quizzes assignment.
d) Total Weighted Quizzes Grade - Since you chose to weigh each Quizzes assignment individually, input your desired total weighted Quizzes.
Practice Options:
a) Column Type - For Practice grades, choose if you want a single summary score (column) for all Practice assignments or a score (column) for every Practice assignment.
b) Grading Policies - Choose your desired blend of participation and correctness credit that contributes to the score for all Practice assignments.
c) Weighting Policy - For your Practice grades, choose if each Practice assignment will be weighted equally or individually based on the chosen weight of each created Practice assignment.
d) Total Weighted Practice Grade - Since you chose to weigh each Practice assignment equally, input your desired total weighted Practice grade.
7. If you choose multiple scores for your gradebook, the Gradebook Column Preview will display at the bottom of the screen showing what your gradebook columns will look like when exported.

To Download Grades:
a) In the Aktiv Chemistry homepage, click the Export Gradebook button in the top right and then the green download button.
