The Aktiv platform offers several different problem types which are accessible to visually and/or motor impaired users. These problems are denoted by this blue symbol in the Question Bank:
These questions are compatible with screen readers (i.e. NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver.) They can also serve as alternatives to other, more visually biased problem types. Locating these icons means clicking into a topic and nested subtopics. The icon will show just above the question text.
Accessible Question Types:
Multiple Choice - The student selects one of a number of options to answer a written question.
Numeric Entry - The student uses a number pad, in a calculator type format, to input a numeric expression which answers the prompt.
Nomenclature - The student uses a variety of tiles to name a given chemical structure.
Chemical Equations - The student uses a variety of tiles to balance or create a chemical equation.
