The Aktiv platform offers several different problem types which are accessible to visually and/or motor impaired users. These problems are denoted by this blue symbol in the Question Bank:
These questions are compatible with screen readers (i.e. NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver.) They can also serve as alternatives to other, more visually biased problem types. Below you can see that locating these icons means clicking into a topic and nested subtopics. The icon will show just above the question text.
Accessible Question Types that will be marked with this icon include:
Multiple Choice - The student selects one of a number of options to answer a written question.
Numeric Entry - The student uses a number pad, in a calculator type format, to input a numeric expression which answers the prompt.
Nomenclature - The student uses a variety of tiles to name a given chemical structure.
Chemical Equations - The student uses a variety of tiles to balance or create a chemical equation.
